Overview & Accomplishments

We are very pleased to announce that Orlando Science Schools has been recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a High Performing Charter School and fully accredited by SACS CASI AdvancED Accreditation Commission since 2011!

The achievements made this school year could not have been reached without a dedicated staff, amazing students, and supportive parents. We shall continue our mission and vision to give our students a quality education and shine, not only at the District level but also at the State level. We strongly believe that providing opportunities makes a difference for our students.

• Out of 43 participants, 36 placed at the Dr. Nelson Ying Orange County Science and Engineering Exposition - 14 placed within the Top 5

• Three students received scholarships after placing at the Central Florida Neuroscience Brain Bee Competition at UCF – one student advanced to Nationals Competition

• Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society placed 1st at Regions in Algebra

• Participated in FIRST World Championships in 5 of the last 7 years

• Two students awarded scholarships from Asian American Heritage council for academic success, community involvement, volunteer efforts and dedication to preserving Asian culture

• Junior received President’s Volunteer Service Award and was Finalist of 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards in Florida

• Students win Lockheed Martin Quiz Bowl Competition

• Two teachers recognized by the Florida Association for the Gifted (FLAG) – Award for Excellence in Creative Teaching and Classroom Teacher Mini-Grant

• Executive Director received Distinguished Leader of Central Florida Award from US Representative Darren Soto
