Welcome to OSS Competition Math Program. The main theme of the Competition Math Program is to have fun, to learn a lot of math, and to prepare for state and national level math competitions such as MathCounts, AMC 8, 10, and 12, Mu Alpha Theta, and Math League etc.

What is required?
- Regular attendance at weekly practice sessions
- Completing homework each week
- Full cooperation with math coach volunteers, assistants, parent volunteers, and a polite respectful attitude towards others
- Following Orlando Science Schools policies, including those regarding discipline and maintaining grades
- Commitment to attending County and State competitions
- Self-motivation, hard work and dedication

Orlando Science Schools Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society is currently accepting new members. The Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society organization was formed in our school for the purpose of fostering interest, developing strong scholarships, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics. The OSS MATHCOUNTS team placed 5th overall in this year’s statewide MATHCOUNTS competition
The OSS MATHCOUNTS team placed 5th overall in this year’s statewide MATHCOUNTS competition, which was held at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
OSS is proud to announce the results of the AMC - 8 Nation Wide Mathematics Test. Our students achieved fantastic results. Alexandria Bias was our overall school winner with a score of 23 finishing in the top 1% nationwide.
The OSS Mathletes competed in the Florida Association of Mu Alpha Theta February regional competition at Sun Coast Community High School on February 14th. After starting our day at 5:30 a.m. and driving nearly three hours to reach the competition, our Algebra 2 and Geometry teams did an amazing job and received 1st place. Additionally, the Algebra 1 team got 2nd place.
Orlando Science Schools placed 1st out of a total of 40 middle school teams across the region during the annual Central Florida Regional MathCounts competition, held at University High School on Saturday, February 21st.
Orlando Science Schools competition math teams participated in the 12th annual FGCU math competition on Monday, December 15th, 2014 at Florida Gulf Coast University's main campus. Once again, OSS mathletes did an amazing job and brought many trophies home. Both the Algebra 2 and Geometry teams received 1st place. While the Algebra 1 team ranked 4th among more than 45 schools from all around the state.
OSS is proud to announce the results of the MAA American Mathematics Competitions 8 (AMC – 8) 2014. Our students achieved fantastic results. Once again, Alexandria Bias was our overall school winner with a score of 24 finishing in the top 1%nationwide.
Congratulations to Mr. Murphy and his National MATHCOUNTS club for achieving Gold Level status. Students worked diligently on a Mathematical Scavenger Hunt while creating unique problems with detailed solutions.
