Online application for the 2017-18 school year lottery ended on January 31st at 11:59 pm.
On Sunday April 9th 2017, Orlando Science Middle High hosted the “AdvancED Accreditation Welcome Dinner in the cafeteria. The purpose of this event was to welcome the Accreditation Team to our school and give them a chance to meet Orlando Science Middle High staff, teachers, parents, students and alumni.
Our final parent teacher conference nights will be held on the dates listed above. Beginning Sunday April 16th 2017 at 8pm you may begin signing up for a time slot to meet with your student’s teachers. Please note there are only 12 spots available per grade level, and are filled on first come first serve basis.
Students who are currently taking AP Biology and or AP US History Courses have the opportunity to take the Biology EOC and or the US History EOC if they choose. If students pass the Biology EOC and or the US History EOC they will satisfy the "Scholar Diploma Designation" requirement, which is very beneficial for their college application.
The OSS MathCounts Team has done it again! Over Spring Break the team competed at the MathCounts FL State Finals. This event is one of the most challenging State Finals in the United States. Our OSS MathCounts Team placed 5th overall!
OSS is pleased to announce that our very own OSS FRC Clockwork Mania Team 4013 has received the “Chairman’s Award” during their most recent competition at the Alabama Super Regional over Spring Break. Due to this most recent achievement the team has been received an invitation the “World Championship”.
We are excited to share with you that our OSS Science Olympiad Team has placed 2nd out of 42 teams at the FL State Science Olympiad Tournament which was held on March 25th 2017. Along with the 2nd Place Trophy to add to their vastly growing collection, the team received an invitation to compete at the National Science Olympiad Tournament, to be held on May 20th 2017 at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio!
On Thursday, March 30th five of the new Key Club executive board officers headed to the Rosen Shingle Creek Conference Center & Hotel to partake in the 79th Annual Key Club District Convention. These young ladies & their club advisor, Ms. Dunbar, spent four days learning about rules, regulations & requirements for the upcoming Key Club year.
