***Congratulations to all of our staff, students and their parents***
Florida Department of Education released school rankings, and OSS is ranked 10th place in the State of Florida in its category (Middle/High School combination category). We received a congratulatory letter from the Commissioner of Education, Gerard Robinson for our placement and were honored with his kind words. In addition, the School Board of Orange County has recognized OSS again to receive an "A" grade for the 2010-11 school year.Thank you so much for your dedication to excellence, and keep up the good work!!

Congratulations to the OSS Science Olympiad Teams! Our middle school and high school teams competed in the Regional Science Olympiad Tournament last Saturday. Our teams received 11 first places in the 23 categories. Within those results, OSS’ middle school team has ranked 1st place, as a team, among the 36 teams from all 6 of the counties that were represented; Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Brevard, Lake and Osceola. Congratulations to all the Science Olympiad members and Good Luck at State!!

OSS Team 4013 Clockwork Mania competed at the FIRST World Championship held in St. Louis Missouri from April 25 to April 28, 2012. There are over 2,000 FRC teams in the world. Only 400 of those get to participate in the World Championship.

Orlando Science Schools science olympiad teams won 1st and 3rd place in the State Science Olympiad Tournament.With this amazing accomplishment Orlando Science Schools will attend the 2012 National Science Olympiad which will be held at Orlando, and represent the State of Florida at the National level second year in a row.

On February 18, 2012 the Orlando Science School FIRST Tech Challenge Team 5070 N.U.T.S. (Nerds United for Technological Superiority), participated in the FTC Florida Championship at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. There were some technical challenges, but the team was able to overcome them; the robot Pistachio and the driving team performed well in all the matches. The team was a finalist for the Think Award and earned the Judges Award, in the Judge’s opinion, N.U.T.S was the best rookie team.

Many OSS students participated in the first annual History Fair this year. The students did a wonderful job showing their interests and talents as they researched a wide variety of historical topics. The winners include students from all grade levels. These students will participate in the Seminole County History Fair on Saturday, February 11. Congratulations!
