N.U.T.S. is going to the World Championship
Orlando Science Schools FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team 5070 N.U.T.S. (Nerds United for Technological Superiority) won the Inspire Award at the Florida FTC Championship. The Inspire Award is highest award a team can earn at the FL state championship; the winner of the Inspire Award receives an invitation to the FTC World Championship to be held on April 24 to 27, 2013 at the Edward Jones Dome in Saint Louis Missouri.
Dear Parents; OSS is happy to announce a STEM competition sponsored by Florida Gulf Coast University and offered by the Department of Chemistry and Mathematics. The purpose of this event is to encourage students to develop their interests and abilities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Participation is open to all middle school, junior high school and senior high school students and is divided into following categories. Orlando Science Hosted its very first Scrabble Tournament Starting this past December. Students of all grades were welcome to participate and the turnout was great! 32 students of all grade levels entered this single-elimination competition, all trying to become the ultimate "word Master!" The tournament was hosted by Mr. Murphy, along with the help of the administration.

OSS Science Olympiad ranked in top 10 in two categories at National Science Olympiad last Saturday!
In Experimental Design category; Beth Martin, Daniela Gutierrez, and Raquel Guerrero received 6th place.
In Awesome Aquifer category; Carlos Barea and Isaac Gordon received 9th place.
Dear Parents and Students,Orlando Science School is organizing a special event for the 8th grade. A high school presentation night will be held on February 12th starting with a dinner at 5:30 pm followed by a presentation at 6:00 pm!! Parents and students will learn about all the exciting academic and social activities that await them at Orlando Science High School. Parents of OSS 8th grade students are cordially invited to share in a dinner of goals and high school career planning.

We had an amazing Thanksgiving Break Camp at Lake Louisa! OSS students spent time with their friends and teachers at the CMP/ Science Olympiad Camp. Students studied SAT- Mathematics Reading and Vocabulary.
