Ms. G's 6th grade Language Arts classes presented a successful and humorous rendition of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, on December 18, at 7pm in the OSMS cafeteria.

Dickens Brings Out the Holiday Spirit at OSMS

Despite the stormy weather, over 100 parents, students, and families turned out to support the school in its first ever dramatic endeavor.   The play was directed by OSMS teacher, Nicole Giangaspro, with a cast and crew of over 30 students. Brandice Scott starred playing the miserly and odious Ebenezer Scrooge whose blatant hatred of his fellow man doom him to a dark future unless he can learn the true meaning of Christmas. With a lively and active supporting cast, many found the play to be enjoyable and fun!

Ms. Schumacher’s Odyssey of the Mind club held an eventful fundraiser that evening offering parents and families attending the play holiday treats, popcorn, and drinks for a small fee.  All money raised went to support Odyssey of the Mind and their future competitions.

A special “Thank you” to  Waleska Santos and Jason Green who provided the amazing sets and backgrounds, Willene Sprinkle Williams-Lewis,  who created many of the wonderful costumes, Chris Carroll & Associates, Inc. for their monetary donation and Sondra Darby for her volunteer assistance. We could not have done this play without you!
