Orlando Science School is proud to announce that our first Accelerated Reader celebration, for the 2015 – 2016 school year, was a grand success. One hundred and twenty students earned thirty AR points within one month, or one hundred and fifty AR points since August 24, 2015.
Students feasted on ice cream, provided by our Orlando Science Parent Volunteer Organization, as they played challenge trivia with other AR scholars. Additionally, four students received $10 gift cards from Barnes and Noble for being AR Stars of the Month.
Accelerated Reading is a computer program that helps teachers and parents manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. The next AR celebration is scheduled for December 1, 2015. Students who earn at least 30 AR Points between Saturday, October 31st and Monday, November 30th will be eligible to participate.
