STEM Art Contest



Any OSS Technology Campus student from kindergarten through seventh grade may participate.

Contest dates:

The contest will begin on February 28, 2018 and end on March 28th. Any work submitted after the deadline will not be judged.

Judging and Winners:

• A panel of judges will review entries by grade level.

• There will be a first, second, and third place winner from each grade level. Each will receive a gift certificate of varying amounts.

• The first-place winners from each grade will have their artwork showcased at the STEM Expo at Barnes and Noble on April 5th from 5 to 8 PM.

• There will be a grand prize winner from K-4 and 5-7. Those winners will be recognized at the STEM Expo at 6 PM.

• All finalists will receive a certificate of recognition.

Contest Rules:

1. Artwork must be submitted in two-dimensional form, including the following categories: drawing, painting, collage, photography, spoken word, poem, lyric, or computer graphic.

2. Students may only submit one (1) piece of artwork

3. Each submission must include: the student’s name, grade, school, homeroom teacher's name, and a paragraph description on the back of the artwork.

4. The submitted artwork is property of Orlando Science Schools. The artwork can be used partially and entirely, at any time, by the school and will NOT be returned to students.

5. Artwork will be judged based on the provided rubric.

6. Original work must not exceed 15"x20" and needs to be mounted or applied (not matted) on presentation board of 15”x20” (the presentation board can be a mounting board, illustration board, or collage board).

7. All images must be two-dimensional, original and not appropriated from any other resource unless dramatically altered. Artwork must be unpublished and completed by one student.
