Orlando Science School is implementing a Controlled Open Enrollment Plan beginning with the 2017-2018 school year in compliance with State regulations. OSS will allow a parent from any school district in the state whose child is not subject to a current expulsion or suspension to enroll his or her child in and transport his or her child to our school pending that we have not reached capacity, subject to the maximum class size which is mandated by the State of Florida. This plan will be carried out as follows:

• OSS Lottery System will be the method of admission for all students
• OSS does not provide transportation
• Orange County residents will be given priority
• Students who currently attend within our system (Seminole Science Charter School and Osceola Science Charter School) will be given priority
• Students who currently attend OSS and move out of county will have the option of remaining enrolled as a transfer student
• Transfers will be accepted after we have enrolled all applicants from Orange County on the waitlist

• Transfers will remain in effect unless:

o student is excessively tardy or absent as per Orange County policy
o parents are excessively late picking up from the after-care program
o student is referred for disciplinary action

If any of these occur, the student will be withdrawn.

We are a school of choice and are very proud of our academic achievements.
Thank you for reviewing our policies regarding enrollment
for students not residing in Orange County.
